MASANETO
Frequently asked questions
What can I sell on MASANETO?
Items that fit the MASANETO auction categories: vehicles, work machines, tools, building, garden, interior, electronics, manufacturing and other similar goods. You can sell a single item or a set of several pieces. Describe it honestly, add photos or a video, and set the prices. Items that fit no category, or whose sale is prohibited or restricted, are not accepted.
How much does it cost?
Publishing a no-reserve auction is free; an auction with a reserve price costs a listing fee of 2.00 EUR incl. VAT. The buyer pays a 2.5 % commission on the final price, with a 12 EUR minimum, plus VAT where it applies; the commission is paid together with the item price, in one payment. When an item sells, the seller's payout is reduced by a settlement account fee of 2 % of the sale price net of VAT, minimum 2 EUR, maximum 150 EUR, plus VAT according to the seller's VAT status.
What is the reserve price?
The reserve price is the lowest amount the seller agrees to sell for. It is hidden from bidders. If the highest bid at close is below it, the seller may send a counteroffer or let the auction end without a sale. The seller may instead publish a no-reserve auction: it is marked "No reserve", shows a visible starting price, and the highest bid always sells.
What does a bid mean?
A bid is the total price for the whole auction, excluding VAT. Every bid is binding: if you win, you are committed to buy at that price. The bid box shows the VAT on the item, the commission and the total before you confirm.
What happens when the auction closes?
If the reserve is met, the sale is confirmed and the buyer receives payment instructions. The buyer pays the whole amount into the MASANETO settlement account; once the money is in, both sides receive each other's contact details and the seller hands the item over. If the reserve is not met, the seller may send a counteroffer to the highest bidder. In a no-reserve auction the highest bid is always a sale.
How do I pay for the item?
When publishing an auction, the seller chooses the settlement method: 1) the buyer pays into the MASANETO settlement account and the seller receives the money after handing over the item, or 2) the parties settle directly with each other, and MASANETO collects only its commission. The chosen method is shown on the auction page before bidding.
How long do I have to pay?
1 business day from the sale confirmation. A bank transfer through Stripe extends the deadline by 5 days. If you do not pay in time, the seller may cancel the deal, and an unpaid deal is cancelled automatically after 14 days.
Who issues the invoice for the item?
The seller sells the item; MASANETO is neither the seller nor the buyer. The platform issues the invoice for the item in the seller's name and on their behalf, and a separate invoice for its own commission. The seller has 7 days to object to the invoice; silence approves it.
When does the seller hand the item over?
Only after the platform has confirmed the payment. The buyer then has 7 days to confirm receipt or to object; silence counts as confirmation.
What if the item is not as described?
Object within 7 days of the handover on the auction page. MASANETO examines the objection and decides on a refund to you, a payout to the seller or a partial refund. Until the decision the money stays in the settlement account.
When does the seller receive the money?
After the buyer confirms the handover, or 7 days after the handover if the buyer stays silent. Stripe pays the money to the seller's bank account in about 7 days, less the settlement account fee.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
Every user verifies their identity so that both sides know who they are dealing with: in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia with eID, in other countries with a bank transfer from their own account.
Which countries and languages are supported?
MASANETO serves Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Finland. The interface is available in Latvian, English, Lithuanian, Estonian, Polish, Russian and Finnish.
Who operates the platform?
MASANETO is operated by SIA "Hunter".
